The Balance Economy

When she returned to work after having her first child, she swapped roles with her husband. As they worked towards an equal partnership, they looked for examples of how to make it work and couldn’t find many. That’s where Ellen’s obsession with Working Parents was born.

While the world is filled with advice for how mums are meant to have it all and dad’s are meant to pay the bills, no-one’s talking about how to manage it together, without hating each other’s guts.

This is the Balance Economy, the micro choices we all make every day that add up to large statistical trends of who unpacks the dishwasher in the office, who buys the Christmas presents and who makes the lunchbox.

This keynote will tell you what the Balance Economy is, how it came to be and what we can all do about it (whether we have young children or not).

Curating Your Career

Over the course of our lives, many of us find that our life and career paths end up being based on what we think we 'should' do.

In this keynote, Ellen Hooper will talk to you about the themes that come up time and time again in her hundreds of hours of executive coaching and the steps that you can take to find who you are, the career that you want and design the life that is best for you.

Because when we live in alignment with our values and passions we are in the best position to support, inspire and care for others.

Work That Works

Why are so many of us dissatisfied with work? Organisational culture is an amoeba that we all contribute to but no one person can unilaterally change.

At their core, workplaces are made up of networks of relationships. A lot of things need to be going right (at the same time) to create environments that are engaging and where our people can be well at work.

In this keynote, Ellen Hooper discusses what we know about neuroscience and organisational behaviour and what we can do to truly make work actually work.

“Ellen's presentation style is natural, effortless, and so engaging that you'd think she was speaking directly to you. The stories she shared were like little bursts of inspiration wrapped in relatability.”
